Press credentials are limited and only issued to representatives of the media who cover the industry on a regular basis, by publishing articles or writing regular reports on technology in the media and entertainment industry.
Media accreditation is reserved for working members of the press only. This includes editors, reporters, producers, camera crews, still photographers, and industry analysts. Media relations professionals, publicists, and consultants are not eligible for a media credentials, and should request a pass through the sponsoring company. Show management reserves the right to qualify all registrants and to grant press credentials only to certain members of the media.
Applicants for press credentials must demonstrate employment by or assignment for a publication or program that is previously established, independent and regularly updated with original industry-related news.
Media production professionals do not receive press credentials unless they prove that they are reporting on the event for a specific news organization.
If you receive approval for your press registration request, you agree all of the following conditions and represent that you are authorized to bind your organization to these conditions:
For good and valuable consideration which includes Press Registration for the SMPTE 2018 Annual Technical Conference & Exhibition (SMPTE 2018), I agree to the policy outlined below and understand that I/my organization have limited permission to make still photographs, video and sound recordings/films of portions of Exhibits and/or Sessions at the Event.
I will be video-audio taping/filming/reporting/photographing on assignment for the news organization that I have identified, which has obtained for me press accreditation to SMPTE 2018;
That organization publishes news audio/video or photographic information throughout the year in a regularly scheduled program or programs;
The video and audio we film, tape, or record will be used only in brief news reports to be broadcast/published not later than 30 days following the close of SMPTE 2018, and no final product will incorporate more than five minutes of video or audio from any one session or from the Exhibit Hall;
In any session where a video camera location is designated I will shoot only from that location. For audio I will use only a mic located at the camera position. I will not place any mics on speakers, panelists, podiums, lecterns, or any place outside the designated video shooting area;
I will not use artificial lighting when the room is darkened for projection or computer display purposes;
I will not engage in any streaming or webcasting at SMPTE 2018 without the prior written approval of SMPTE;
My organization will be responsible for any charges which may be imposed at the Westin Bonaventure or the City of Los Angeles because of or related to my filming or taping;
I acknowledge that SMPTE is the sole owner of the rights to make all photos, audio, and video recordings at SMPTE 2018;
This agreement is non-transferable. Any other person representing my organization who wishes to film, videotape, or make video or sound recordings in sessions or in the Exhibit Hall must submit a separate press registration request and be approved;
I also acknowledge the limited license granted to my organization through this agreement permits use only in my organization's own news reports and may be altered or revoked by SMPTE at any time;
SMPTE may limit, at its sole discretion, the locations, times, and subjects for video audio recordings and photographs;
